I really feel for the people of Lowfell…If they knew how he treated students at Northumbria University, (he’s a lecturer there) I think they may not vote for him. There is very much a culture of bullying in the poly. If you have a genuine complaint, it’s likely to be buried, otherwise they will harass or ignore a student until they give up. There are particular procedures for females. Unfair marking exists as well. He writes on his web site: “Because I believe in the dignity of all, in the potential that freedom brings and in the beauty of difference I am a liberal.” I think what he actually means is I believe in the dignity of some, in the potential that the abuse of power brings and in the beauty of the alike I am a bigot.
